McConnell Sides With Schumer To Block Potential Trump VETO Of Defense Bill…Keeping Big Tech Protection

Mitch McConnell has made a deal with Chuck Schumer to block a potential Trump veto of the National Defense Authorization Act.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced early Tuesday morning that the Senate will return to Washington on Dec. 29 to respond to a potential veto from President Trump of a mammoth defense bill.

McConnell, speaking from the Senate floor, said that he had struck a deal with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for the chamber to return for a rare post-Christmas session during which he said they will “process” a veto override…if it’s passed by the House.

“My intention was and is to ensure the Senate continues fulfilling our obligation to the men and women of our armed forces. I hope the president will not veto this bill,” McConnell said.

President Trump has threatened to veto the bill because it allows Big Tech to censor conservatives.

…..Therefore, if the very dangerous & unfair Section 230 is not completely terminated as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), I will be forced to unequivocally VETO the Bill when sent to the very beautiful Resolute desk. Take back America NOW. Thank you!

December 3:

Very sadly for our Nation, it looks like Senator @JimInhofe will not be putting the Section 230 termination clause into the Defense Bill. So bad for our National Security and Election Integrity. Last chance to ever get it done. I will VETO!

Mitch McConnell doesn’t care. He’d rather join with Chuck Schumer and Democrats to protect Big Tech.
