SANTA FE COUNTY, NM – According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old actor Alec Baldwin reportedly shot two crew members on set while filming the movie “Rust”, killing one of the crew members and injuring another.

If Halyna Hutchins was killed, and another film crew member injured, after Alec Baldwin fired a “prop firearm” on set – it wasn’t a prop firearm: it was a bonafide firearm. #AlecBaldwin https://t.co/MllZA7dPY9

The incident occurred on October 21st at approximately 1:50 p.m., where authorities say that Baldwin was handling a “prop” firearm when he discharged the weapon and shot 42-year-old director of photography Halyna Hutchins and 48-year-old director Joel Souza.

Hutchins was reportedly transported to University of New Mexico Hospital via helicopter and was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Souza was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Center, where his condition is currently unclear.

A statement from the sheriff’s office made mention of the “prop” firearm that Baldwin reportedly discharged, noting that detectives are currently investigating:
