As we all know, Republican lawmakers are leading an effort to object to the Electoral College Count on January 6.
Formally, a dozen House members have officially indicated they will object and according to some reports there are more than 140 members involved. On top of those members, about a dozen Senators including Senator Josh Hawley and a group led by Sen. Ted Cruz have indicated they will also object.
The group, led by Sen. Cruz released a statement saying they want a commission formed to look into the allegations of fraud and unconstitutional irregularities. They want the vote held off until the commission does so.
Vice President Mike Pence, as the president of the Senate, is the person who will preside over the count. Now he’s signaling official support for the challenge effort.
